Sean Aherne for Littleton School Committee
My name is Sean Aherne and I am a write-in candidate for the open Littleton School Committee seat. When I learned that no one had pulled nomination papers to run for the Committee, I felt compelled to step up.
I grew up in Massachusetts and attended college and graduate school at Providence College. Shortly after earning my Masters in Business Administration, I moved back to the Boston area. I have spent a decade working in finance. Currently, I am the finance director of a regional hardware store with a location in town.
Based on what we’ve seen so far during this federal administration, I believe we’ve entered a time where the typical approach to allocating federal funding, and ultimately downstream state funding, has and will change. I think any potential risk that poses to our school budget calls for fiscal vigilance by those entrusted with budgetary oversight. I believe that my financial expertise and perspective would be an asset to the committee and the town to help maximize the resources we have to educate our children. I will take pride in ensuring that these resources are spent wisely and that our children receive the best possible education.
For those not familiar with the write-in process, when you vote, whether by mail or in person, on May 10th there will be no candidates listed for the open school committee’s seat. I would be honored if you would write my name SEAN AHERNE in the open space under the school committee section. Please be sure to also fill in the oval completely.
